Welcome to Classical Greece Tours. Booking a holiday is easier when you know who is behind it. So before you pick one of our Greece Tours, let me tell you who we are, how we think and what you can count on.
I am Yannis Divramis, the founder. Most days I am the one drawing up your route, and on many tours I walk beside you as the guide. My childhood was split between two islands, Milos and Santorini, and I never really stopped exploring Greece after that.

Where The Idea Came From
Questions From Friends
This company did not begin with a business plan. It began with messages from people I knew:
“Which island should we choose, Yannis?”
“Do you think Meteora deserves a whole day?”
“Could you sketch a one-week route for us?”
I knew the answers because I had lived them. As a kid I jumped into the water at Kleftiko and watched the sun go down over the sea long before those views were famous.
Each summer I gave myself a month or more to roam from Corfu to Crete, then to Skiathos, Patmos and Lefkada, and across the mainland to Messinia, Laconia and Mystras.
Growing Step By Step
One friend told another, and soon I was planning holidays for people I had never met: couples, families, colleagues and small groups. Some of them asked if I could come along and show them around. I said yes, and Classical Greece Tours was born.
Demand kept growing, and I noticed what people really wanted. They were tired of copy-and-paste packages. They wanted a person they could trust to handle the ferries, the tickets and the hotels, and to give them a trip that felt local.
The Team We Built
To meet that need I did three things.
- I asked licensed guides in the key destinations to work with us.
- I set up a small planning team for routes, reservations and customer questions.
- I gathered partners I can phone any day: skippers on Milos, hotel owners on Santorini, taverna families in Pelion and reliable drivers around Athens, Thessaloniki and Crete.
Even now we remain a compact company, and that is a choice. I read the plans before they go out, and I reply to a lot of the mail myself.
What Matters Most To Us
Our mission fits in one line: show you Greece as its people know it, with the safety and organisation of a professional travel company. Five ideas guide the work.
- Genuine moments. Chat with locals, taste home cooking and walk beyond the usual postcard views.
- First-hand knowledge. Greek is my first language and I am on the move all year, so we never rely on old guidebooks.
- Straight answers. We tell you what is included and what is not, and we promise only what we can do.
- Fewer trips, done well. A carefully planned journey beats a mass-produced one.
- Your style, your budget. Some guests want luxury and others want to travel light, and both deserve a good plan.
The Way We Plan A Trip
I see myself as a traveller who happens to run a company. That is why our plans look the way they do.
You come first. Honeymooners, parents with energetic children and friends after beaches and late nights all need different things. We ask about you before we suggest anything.
Big names and small secrets. You will stand at the Acropolis, look up at Meteora and watch the sunset on Santorini. We will also share a peaceful beach on Milos, a hillside village in Pelion or a quiet viewpoint on Crete.
Honest timing. The country is small on the map but big on the road. A ferry can change a whole afternoon. If a plan crams too much in, we will tell you and offer a calmer one.
Tested by us. Every hotel, driver, boat and activity comes from people we know. Many of them are old friends.
Always a person. When you write to us, a member of our small team answers, or I do.
What You Can Book Through Us
Tours On The Mainland And In Athens
We love private and small-group tours because a guide who knows the place can really shine with a few guests. Have a look at our current Greece tours, or tell us what you have in mind. Popular ideas include:
- walking the Acropolis and the Ancient Agora with a private guide, or tasting your way through Athens on a food tour;
- a shared-interest group trip about history, food or photography;
- a day out to Delphi, Meteora, Nafplio, Pelion or Mystras;
- a theme such as myths, Byzantine art, ancient sites, sailing, walking or wine.
All our guides are licensed, experienced and speak English, and many speak other languages too. Guests often say a great guide made the difference between a nice day and a day to remember.
Island Hopping
If I could choose only one thing to do for the rest of my life, it might be hopping between islands. Every year I spend weeks on Corfu, Lefkada, Milos, Santorini, Crete, Skiathos and Patmos. I check ferry times, sleep in new hotels and make notes, so what we recommend is up to date.
Here is how that helps you:
- We match islands to your mood, whether you want romance, family fun, nightlife, calm or wild nature.
- We put the stops in an order that saves time on boats.
- We pair islands with the mainland, for instance Athens, then Meteora, then the Peloponnese, then a beach or two.
- We add special touches: a sail to Kleftiko, a tasting at a Santorini vineyard, a walk through the Cretan hills or a day among Peloponnese castles.
You may dream of Mykonos and Santorini or prefer a lesser-known island. Either way, we can build the route.
A Complete Trip, Planned For You
Plenty of guests do not want to book piece by piece. They want one team to take care of everything. For a full journey we can arrange:
- a route with the right pace for your dates;
- places to stay, from small boutique hotels to family guesthouses and villas;
- ferries, flights, airport transfers and, when it helps, a rental car;
- a helping hand if the weather or a delayed boat changes things;
- restaurant suggestions and little surprises for birthdays, honeymoons and anniversaries.
My goal is to be the single person you can call, from your first email until your flight home.
Reasons To Choose Us
Safe, Local And Well Informed
Three things decide whether a Greek holiday goes well: knowing the place, having a good guide and feeling safe.
- I grew up here and travel the country all the time, so the details in your plan are current.
- Our guides hold a licence and our drivers are chosen with care, so you are in good hands.
- We plan with the clock in mind and allow for ferries, road traffic and the time of year.
Easy To Work With
- Adjustable. Want one splurge night and simple stays for the rest? More free time? Just say so.
- Clear. You see what each part of the trip includes, so nothing appears at the last minute.
- Close by. A real person answers your questions, before you go and while you are there.
My Idea Of A Dependable Company
Papers and licences matter, but to me trust is built in everyday habits:
- doing exactly what we said we would do;
- answering quickly, above all when you are already in Greece;
- giving honest advice, even if it means a smaller booking for us;
- staying loyal to the guides, drivers and hotels we work with, and to the guests who come back.
The whole team is held to this standard in every season.
Meet The People Behind Your Trip
The Guides
You will read my name a lot, but I am only one part of the picture. The guides we use are licensed by the Greek state and know their subjects deeply, from ancient history to daily village life. They speak English and are comfortable with families, older travellers and small groups.
We have worked with each of them many times. That means you meet a person who already knows the level of care we promise.
Behind The Scenes
Some of our team never appear on a tour, yet your trip depends on them:
- Planners who convert your ideas into a day-by-day schedule.
- Customer care who answer questions and handle changes and confirmations.
- Partners across the country, such as boat captains in the Cyclades and hoteliers in Crete and the Peloponnese.
We are small, and we like it that way. Doing a few things well, with a personal touch, is what we are good at.
How To Start
From First Message To Final Plan
- Write to us. Share your travel dates, how many people are coming and the mood of your holiday.
- We chat. A few emails, and a short call if useful, help me learn your priorities.
- You get ideas. I send a first outline, sometimes with more than one version.
- We tune it. Tell us what to change, and we adjust hotels, pace and activities.
- You say yes. We book the guides, transfers and stays.
- You go. You carry a clear plan and the numbers to call, and we stay in touch during the trip.
This works well whether you start a long time ahead or just a few weeks before you fly.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why choose Classical Greece Tours over a bigger agency?
We are small and run locally by Yannis Divramis. You get flexible plans instead of fixed packages, a mix of famous and quiet places, and licensed guides and partners we know personally.
Will Yannis be my guide?
Sometimes, yes. Yannis often plans the trip and may lead it himself. On other tours, an experienced, licensed, English-speaking guide from our trusted group takes over.
What services do you offer?
We offer private and small-group tours, day trips such as Meteora and Delphi, themed tours, island-hopping routes and complete itineraries with hotels, transport and on-the-ground help.
How does the planning work?
You share your dates, group size and travel style. We send a first plan, change it with your feedback, and book everything after you approve. We stay available during your trip.
When should I get in touch?
Aim for four to eight months before a summer trip from June to September, because ferries and hotels sell out. For May or October, a little less notice is fine.
Can I visit both islands and the mainland?
Yes. A typical plan is a few days in Athens, a mainland stop like Delphi, Meteora or the Peloponnese, and an island or two at the end. We sort the order so you waste less time travelling.
